2025 Great Southern Invitational

Food & Drink will be available to purchase over the weekend.
Play will continue over both days for all teams.
Presentations to the winning team of each division after play on Sunday afternoon.

As the competition gets closer more details will be available here.

Competition Format
Each division will play doubles games over the two days in a round robin format.
One match point is awarded to the winning team.
At the end of the tournament – the winner of each division will be determined by the team with the most match points.

Tied  Results
In the event of a tie, with multiple teams with equal match points, those teams will have playoff games to determine a winner.
Each team will rank & pair-off their players:

• Pair 1 - Player #1 & #2.

• Pair 2 - Player #3 & #4.

• And so on...

Those pairs will face off against their opposite numbers.
Each pair will play a single playoff game played to 21 points, no sets.
Total combined points will be determined the winning team.

To balance the competition teams should register in the division that suits the ability of the members of the team.
The three divisions are:

1. Division 1 - Strong competitive players

2. Division 2 - Experienced/Intermediate players

3. Division 3 - Competitive social players

The organiser reserves the right to reassign your team to the division that better suits your team's ability.

With limited spaces across all three divisions register your team early.

All Divisions
Teams can consist of combination of Male and Female players, any age.
Teams must register at least four players.
Teams can register one or two additional players.
Teams must rank each player when registering the team.
Teams must nominate players at the beginning of each match.
All nominated players must play the same number of games in a given match.
No nominated player can play with other players more than once in a given match.
Teams that do not comply with these rules will forfeit the match.

Division 1
All players, no matter of rank, can be nominated for any position in the team at the beginning of each match.

Division 2 & 3
The players ranked 1 and 2 can NOT be nominated for lower ranked positions at the beginning of each match.

Matches & Nominations
Teams will be allowed two minutes before the start of each round to nominate the members of their team and which pair will play each match.

GSBA Members were invited to register their Interested in representing the Association.
Those interested in participating needed to:

• Registrations closed on 1st of February 2025.

• The Tournament Committee has met to select teams.

• All members that registered interest have been informed.

• PAYMENT IS NOW DUE
