Upcoming events SAVE THE DATES!
Autumn pennants introduced a few changes to the format. Firstly, the sessions were combined, which allowed for an extended format, each pair played best of three games to see who comes out on top.
The teams played four rounds of doubles & mixed doubles with the captains playing singles, so there where plenty of opportunities for the teams to work on any shortcomings they could identify.
For the first time native animal mascots were chosen for each of the four teams, the Possum, Quokka, Kangaroo and Bandicoot.
This season was marred by several injuries to players which meant the line ups where often changed. A huge thanks to several volunteers who filled the spots left vacant by those injured players.
Once again there where some really close sets with the third game required to determine a winner.
The entire field of players embodied the true spirit of sportsmanship and goodwill throughout the whole season. The dedication to fair play, respect for their opponents, and camaraderie both on and off the field have been inspiring.

A close first round saw the Quokkas really pushed by the Possums. and the Kangaroos just piped the Bandicoots, leaving one game separating the entire field.
The second round started show a pattern forming, with Quokkas easily defeating the Bandicoots while the Kangaroos where just able to pip the Possums.
The third round saw the Quokkas start to streak ahead, outclassing the Kangaroos, while the Possums were able to hold off the Bandicoots.
The results left two teams on a level pegging, with 10 wins each, the Possums & Kangaroos. On a count back the Kangaroos took the converted second spot to play off for the championship against the Quokkas. Leaving the Possum's to fight it out against the Bandicoots, for third & fourth place.
The Finals saw the Possums dominate the Bandicoots, five wins to two. There was some debate if the result was due to the inclusion of Samuel Graham, replacing the injured Rhett Eiffler for the second week in a row or if the Bandicoots, while ably assisted by Jenny McMullan filling in for Taia Green, were actually put off by Taia's new haircut! While the former is more likely the Bandicoots can be proud of their performance, several sets were only separated by a few points.
In the top match, while the Kangaroos fought hard, they were no match for the new look Quokkas, with Jerry Poiron and Michelle Watsons replacing Boney Thomas and Sophia Sebastian the Quokkas were able to rack up six wins to one, an amazing result!
Congratulations to the standout team this season, the Green Quokka's, with a total of twenty wins for the season, a truly outstanding performance.
